Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join our major infrastructure team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing complex infrastructure projects, negotiating contracts, and providing commercial management services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage communication between Turner & Townsend and clients.
  • Negotiate and agree contracts.
  • Provide commercial management services under various forms of contract and payment mechanisms.
  • Timely assessment, valuation, and payment of works.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual procedural requirements.
  • Lead contractual negotiations with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Identify financial and contractual risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and implement contingency plans.
  • Manage project budgets and advise on options to keep the budget on track.
  • Produce and present profit and loss statements, monthly forecasts, and cash flows.
  • Apply technical and commercial knowledge to identify and implement value engineering solutions.
  • Chair project meetings with clients and consultants.
  • Complete site surveillance reports and diaries, and review contractor's progress reports.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders, including project managers, planners, finance, and risk managers.
  • Mentor and support junior colleagues to grow and develop professionally.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Chartered membership of relevant professional bodies, such as RICS or AIQS.
  • 4-10 years' experience working in complex, large-scale, and multi-disciplinary projects in transport and/or infrastructure.
  • Natural relationship builder with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Able to anticipate and follow-through fully on tasks.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Commitment to providing excellent service.
