About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Counsellor to join our Family & Relationship Services program located at our Kalgoorlie office. This role is primarily to provide counselling to enhance the healthy functioning of individuals, couples and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screening, assessments and support planning.
  • Selecting and providing appropriate brief intervention supports for clients whether they be clients or carers.
  • Assessing supports and ensuring that they are appropriate to meeting client's needs.
  • Deliver evidence-based counselling and group interventions.
  • Referring and assisting clients to access appropriate mainstream specialist services and support groups; and
  • Providing information and education to clients, carers, families and other service providers; and providing and/or arranging support for carers and families.
Requirements
  • Recognised tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work/Sciences, Mental Health, Counselling, Childhood Development and/or Family studies and related disciplines or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in working with children and families with complex needs e.g. domestic violence, homelessness, abuse, schooling issues. Whereby service design was inclusive of social, emotional, mental, and physical needs.
  • Experience in case management and coordination of client services.
  • Demonstrated experience in intake, assessment and case management.
  • Knowledge and experience in early intervention and prevention program services.
