About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Barista Trainer to join our team at Coffee Supreme Limited. As a Barista Trainer, you will be responsible for providing inspiring and informative coffee training for baristas working with our coffee.

This is a unique opportunity to combine your excellent barista skills and hospitality experience with your passion for coffee and training. You will work closely with our team to deliver exceptional customer service, maintain high standards of quality, and contribute to a positive team culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide training sessions and support to our valued cafe customers in Victoria.
  • Work as a barista in the cafe attached to our Melbourne roastery.
  • Establish, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with our cafe customers.
  • Train baristas at our accounts to make outstanding coffee, using approved Coffee Supreme techniques and approaches.
  • Organise training bookings, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Keep our training room and equipment clean, tidy, and stocked with supplies.
  • Document all work in our ERP system.
  • Greet customers, make them feel welcome, and continue to engage with them throughout their time at Coffee Supreme Abbotsford in a warm and friendly manner.
  • Get to know our valued regulars, their names, drink preferences, etc.
  • Talk to customers about our coffees and products, and help them to buy beans and products for making great coffee at home.
  • Smash out top-quality espresso drinks.
  • Brew batch filter on the Fetco.
  • Serve customers at the till along with delivering food.
  • Clear tables, and keep the cafe looking clean, tidy, and inviting.
  • Mid-level food preparation, cabinet displays, and plating food items.
  • Wash dishes.
About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about coffee and the hospitality industry, who is engaging, confident, and self-motivated. You will need to be a great communicator and able to relate to people from all walks of life. Having a sense of hustle and a positive outlook are a must.

You will have a minimum of two years' experience as a barista in a high-volume cafe, and ideally have experience with La Marzocco machinery and Mythos or Mazzer grinders. You will also have a basic knowledge of specialty coffee, processing methods, etc.

We are looking for someone who is a proactive self-starter with good time management skills, who can work autonomously and as part of a team. You will need to be reliable and punctual, and be well-presented.

What We Offer

This is a full-time role requiring 38 hours per week. The ordinary days of work will be Monday to Friday, but availability to work the odd Saturday in the cafe would be an advantage. All staff receive a weekly coffee allowance and access to our Employee Assistance programme.
