Job Title: Energy Sector Leader

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is seeking an experienced energy sector professional to build and lead a new Gas and Fuel Security team.

This is a unique opportunity to apply your policy and energy sector nous, and your leadership capability to grow a team that will shape the role of gas in NSW's energy transition.

The Manager Gas and Fuel Security provides regulatory and commercial advice to Ministers and Senior Executives on matters related to gas supply adequacy, government interventions and infrastructure projects to maintain a secure gas and alternate fuel supply for NSW.

You will lead and manage a team in the development, delivery and implementation of a portfolio of energy market and infrastructure initiatives and reforms that support organisational objectives and Government commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide regulatory and commercial advice to senior executives and ministers.
  • Develop and implement policies to ensure gas supply adequacy.
  • Lead and manage a team in the development and implementation of energy market and infrastructure initiatives.

About the Team:

The Gas and Fuel Security team is responsible for providing regulatory and commercial advice to ministers and senior executives on matters related to gas supply adequacy, government interventions and infrastructure projects. The team works closely with other departments and agencies to develop and implement policies and initiatives that support the state's energy transition.
