Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Business Development and Mergers Analyst to join our team at Bank of Queensland.

About the Role

The successful candidate will support the Group Strategy and Mergers team in developing and executing group and business unit strategies, conducting market and competitive analysis, and identifying, assessing, and executing M&A opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop group and business unit strategies, including setting ambitions, targets, and priorities.
  • Facilitate communication of group strategy to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct market and competitive intelligence, including market sensing.
  • Support strategic financial modeling, including valuation, scenario, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Assist in strategic risk management.

Mergers and Acquisitions

  • Identify, assess, and execute M&A opportunities.
  • Aid in identifying, assessing, and executing partnership opportunities.
  • Conduct market and competitive intelligence.
  • Support strategic engagement and prepare papers for Board forums.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a robust skill set and extensive knowledge of corporate and business unit strategy development, M&A, business development, and financial modeling. You will also have expertise in market and competitive intelligence, as well as business and data analytics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as finance, economics, or business.
  • 5+ years of experience in a related role, preferably in consulting, investment banking, or the financial services industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
