We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join our Asset Management team as an Engineering Clerk.
This role provides vital administrative and procurement support to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our bus fleet.
You will be based at our Edgeworth depot, with regular travel to other depots across the Central Coast and Hunter regions.
About the Role
The Engineering Clerk is responsible for generating purchase requisitions and issuing approved purchase orders. This involves ordering parts, uniforms, supplies, and stationery for workshop operations.
You will also be responsible for end-of-month fuel reconciliation (shared responsibility across the team), supporting payroll processes, and resolving pay-related queries.
Maintenance and updating of mechanics' registers (licences, training, compliance, etc.) is another key aspect of this role.
You will prepare KPI scorecards, stocktake, and audit documentation (ISO, BOAS, Clean Fleet) and coordinate inspections, training sessions, and compliance activities (e.g. Fire Warden, First Aid).
Assisting with event management and coordination for workshops and staff functions is also a key part of this role.
You will support the preparation, communication, and maintenance of rosters and file and maintain workshop records.
Additionally, you will carry boxes and equipment (up to 15 kg) as required and travel between depots as needed.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- a sound understanding of procurement processes for materials and services;
- familiarity with automotive workshops and/or the bus industry;
- strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- the ability to plan, prioritise, and execute tasks under time pressures;
- experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft AX or SAP (highly desirable);
- flexibility to travel between depots across the Central Coast and Hunter regions;
- ability to safely lift and carry items up to 15 kg when required; and
- willingness to assist across a variety of workshop, compliance, and operational tasks.
Benefits
Working with us offers many benefits including:
- working with one of Australia's leading transport providers;
- being part of a supportive and collaborative team environment;
- gaining exposure across multiple depots and workshop operations;
- opportunities for training, professional growth, and development; and
- playing a key role in keeping essential services moving across NSW.
About Us
If you're highly organised, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to contribute to the safe and reliable operation of our bus fleet, we'd love to hear from you.
