Job Overview

The role of Lead Data Engineer, Assessment Delivery is a pivotal one in driving improvements in student achievement by overseeing NAPLAN data workflows.

  • Develop project plans and risk management strategies to deliver NAPLAN data projects that align with organisational objectives.

This position involves working closely with stakeholders to ensure the delivery of NAPLAN datasets and draft results reports.

The successful candidate will have high-level experience implementing and managing a mature test strategy for the assessment division.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
  • A proven track record of tackling complex technical and project management issues is required.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of five years' experience in delivering use-case-driven data engineering solutions.
  • Expert-level SQL knowledge, including query tuning, schema design, and ETL processes.
  • Experience with Python and PySpark programming languages.
Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and monitoring project plans, risk management plans, and ensuring the delivery of NAPLAN data projects to achieve project outcomes and support achievement of organisational objectives.
  • Deliver NAPLAN datasets and draft NAPLAN results reports.
  • Mentor direct report data engineers and analysts, promote knowledge sharing, and uphold coding standards across the team.
