About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Electrical Engineer to join our team at Hydro Tasmania. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in planning and executing maintenance and repair activities for generation assets.

  • Provide technically and commercially sound engineering advice that balances asset condition with business requirements.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns by providing timely engineering advice to support fault diagnosis and resolution.
  • Work across various sites and spend time on site to develop a deep understanding of our asset portfolio and provide hands-on support where needed.
  • Collaborate closely with the Maintenance team to provide engineering support and advice during planning and execution of maintenance activities.
  • Contribute engineering expertise to condition assessments by leveraging historical data, inspections, and investigations.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  1. Delivering real-time engineering support to ensure assets remain available to meet market demands.
  2. Engaging with on-site operations teams to exchange insights and drive improvements in asset performance.
  3. Mentoring junior engineers and technical officers, supporting the growth of the team.
