Financial Accountant

We are seeking a talented Financial Accountant to join our team at OurMoneyMarket.

Job Summary

This role represents an opportunity to support a fast-growing financial technology company, offering substantial personal and professional development opportunities.

As a member of the Finance team, you will play an instrumental role in financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the month-end accounting process, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
  • Provide support to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as needed.
  • Prepare monthly management reports and monitor financial performance against budget.
  • Maintain the general ledger, regularly reconcile key balance sheet accounts, and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Assist with statutory reporting requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Support external audit processes by providing necessary information and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Utilize Power BI to create interactive dashboards and visual reports and maintain existing ones.
  • Offer ad-hoc assistance to the broader finance team as required.
  • Respond to internal and external finance-related queries promptly and effectively.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline (essential);
  • Hands-on and self-sufficient, with strong end-to-end month-end and reporting capabilities.
  • Essential experience in financial services or a related industry.
  • Technical proficiency in financial systems (preferably Xero), Power BI and Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills for handling complex, high-volume data.
  • Up-to-date knowledge on accounting standards, tax legislation, and regulatory reporting requirements.
