
Student Wellbeing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Student Wellbeing Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality student support services, promoting student wellbeing, and developing strategies to prevent and address mental health issues.
About the Role:
- To develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and programs that foster resilience in young people and address their physical, social, emotional, and educational needs in a school context.
- To provide professional learning that informs and influences the work of others involved in the engagement and wellbeing of students.
- To assess, conceptualise, and analyse student wellbeing issues that translate to improved wellbeing services and engagement of students.
- To develop effective working relationships with young people, parents/carers, school staff, and collaborate with relevant services and health professionals.
- To report to the Head of Wellbeing and provide consultation to Sub School and Year Level Leaders, as well as direct support to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case management and counselling
- Implementation of data-informed and evidence-based strategies to promote health and wellbeing across three tiers of support
- Development of appropriate policies, strategic plans, values, and organisational structures that support the promotion of student wellbeing
- Provision of day-to-day advice to Head of Wellbeing and Principal/Assistant Principal on student wellbeing issues
- Maintenance of a safe school community, including attendance at critical incidents
Requirements:
- Suitable experience in the initiation, development, and implementation of programs, procedures, and policies that foster resilience in young people and address their physical, social, emotional, and educational needs in a school context
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively implement and manage intervention strategies that address complex cases, including critical incidents
- Ability to provide professional learning that informs and influences the work of others involved in the engagement and wellbeing of students
- Highly developed capacity to assess, conceptualise, and analyse student wellbeing issues that translate to improved wellbeing services and engagement of students
- Highly developed organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop effective working relationships with young people, parents/carers, school staff, and collaborate with relevant services and health professionals
