We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team in Sydney, Australia. This role will be part of our growth and marketing space, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver an end-to-end data-driven capability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project teams to design and implement efficient data pipelines.
  • Connect various data systems, ensuring seamless data flow across the organization.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand their data requirements.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation and implementation of architectural principles.
  • Develop quality checks and tests for new code and data assets.
  • Evaluate and adopt new data source systems, practices, and techniques.
  • Liaise with technology teams, internal infrastructure providers, and external partners.
  • Support analysts in developing advanced analytic models and self-service reporting tools.

What You Will Bring:

  • Sound knowledge of data modelling, warehousing techniques, and experience working with data lakes, relational databases, file storage, APIs, modern lakehouses, and cloud-based environments.
  • Relevant industry experience or qualifications in data engineering/modelling and data analytics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Essential Experience:

  • At least 3 years of practical experience in exploring, developing, and deploying complex data sets and pipelines, preferably in financial services.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
  • Experience working with technical and business stakeholders to develop data requirements.
  • Familiarity with data tools and languages such as SQL, Python, Spark, PySpark, and DBT.
