We are looking for a Spot Trader and Operator to join our team in Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for the trading and dispatch of our wind, solar, battery and gas assets.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Commerce, Engineering or Science, and experience in spot trading, analysing energy market dynamics, communicating trends, using established trading systems and market data systems, and making quick decisions focused on optimisation.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Maximise revenue from trading and dispatch activities
  • Minimise risk associated with trading and dispatch activities
  • Provide high-quality analytics and reporting to support business decision-making

Responsibilities:

  • Trading and dispatch of wind, solar, battery and gas assets
  • Managing risk and increasing revenue across the energy and gas markets
  • Providing analytics and reporting outlining market trends, constraints and competitor behaviour
  • Identifying and assessing issues impacting plant availability and compliance
  • Solving problems efficiently by investigating plant SCADA and communicating with internal and external parties
