About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our team at Canva. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and refining machine learning models to deliver personalized recommendations to our users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop machine learning models to improve recommendation systems
  • Optimize existing code structure and enhance performance of machine learning systems
  • Investigate research papers and state-of-the-art machine learning models to apply at Canva
  • Conduct online and offline experiments to validate model performance and make data-driven adjustments
  • Ensure seamless integration and performance across our technology stack
  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to integrate and deploy new recommendation features

Requirements

  • Experience in developing and optimizing machine learning models, especially in recommendation systems
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with data analysis and machine learning libraries
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in evaluating model performance and making data-driven improvements
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to a diverse audience
  • Collaborative mindset and passion for working with cross-functional teams
