As we transition towards a more sustainable future, AGL Energy is at the forefront of the renewable energy revolution. We're seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join our Commercial and Industrial Customer Team.

In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering high-value sales outcomes of energy solutions, primarily Solar, Batteries, and Hybrid Energy Systems, to the Commercial and Industrial sector. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, including sales, engineering, delivery, and asset management, to drive business growth and exceed targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Business Development activities, including researching large industrial energy consumers and maintaining relationships to identify potential renewable energy and hybrid power systems projects.
  • Support Project Development activities, including defining project scope, reviewing budgets and schedules, and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of opportunities to meet annual targets in terms of pipeline growth, revenue, and gross margin.
  • Ensure all Health, Safety, and Environment Systems and goals are introduced and adhered to while meeting the organisation's policies and standards for HSE Management.
  • Demonstrate AGL values by acting in the best interests of the company and working together across the business to create the best overall results and decisions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor level tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Commerce, or Engineering, with experience in high-value deal making for projects in excess of $5,000,000 per transaction in similar sales roles.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the energy market and energy projects space, especially in technologies such as solar, wind, batteries, gensets, and control systems.
  • Hunter mentality with demonstrated success in developing and executing sales plans and a record of achieving sales quotas in a B2B environment for industrial businesses.
  • Excellent professional communication skills with Senior Executives of industrial companies, coupled with strong writing skills and intermediate or advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Self-motivated, achievement-oriented, well-disciplined, task-focused with a strong sense of timeliness and the ability to manage complex deals from origination through to project development and contracting.
