Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Safety and Compliance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating health and safety systems within the project, identifying hazards and assessing risks to health and safety, and providing advice on incident prevention and occupational health to management and employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Report and investigate works health and safety hazards, incidents, and injuries, including support for case and care management.
- Identify, review, and analyze high-risk activities and implement mitigations.
- Actively ensure that subcontractors and suppliers are complying with legislative, client, and alliance work health and safety and environmental requirements.
- Ensure the effective implementation of Safety Management Systems.
- Assess high-risk activities in conjunction with the appropriate personnel and recommend the best approach to take.
- Have a consistent presence at pre-start meetings, including leading and developing material.
Requirements
- Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety, or similar.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably in the same or similar industry.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in safety and compliance.
- Proven knowledge of a risk and incident system, including leading risk assessments.
