Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Adelaide. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise to support the delivery of mechanical engineering projects nationally.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in leading multi-disciplinary project teams and mentoring junior engineers. You will be responsible for organizing, executing, and coordinating complex engineering tasks, as well as applying advanced theories and concepts to deliver innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the mechanical engineering design project, teams, and assignments
  • Organizing, executing, and coordinating complex engineering tasks
  • Applying advanced theories and concepts to deliver innovative solutions
  • Contributing to and performing designs, preparing specifications, and operating within KBR's quality management system
  • Discussing and negotiating critical issues within the discipline both internally and with external stakeholders

Requirements include:

  • Accredited Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent recognized discipline
  • Significant practical design experience with knowledge of local industry standards and local codes
  • Solid experience of leading a multi-disciplinary project team and the ability to mentor and develop team members
  • Proven ability to work in engineering teams and manage projects to scope, budget, and program
  • Significant experience in preparing and reviewing reports and technical specifications
  • The ability to liaise with clients, statutory authorities, and other consultants
  • Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or eligibility to apply for this accreditation
  • Australian Citizenship preferred with the ability to obtain Defence clearance
