As a catering assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming dining experience for patients while supporting the kitchen team to deliver safe, nutritious and well-presented meals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with meal service in the dining area, ensuring accuracy, portion control and presentation standards are consistently met.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the dining and service areas, including clearing tables, washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces and assisting with general kitchen cleaning tasks.
  • Provide excellent patient interaction and customer service by greeting and assisting patients in a friendly, respectful and professional manner.
  • Support kitchen staff with food preparation, plating and additional tasks during busy service times.
  • Accurately record food temperatures, service times and patient dietary adjustments to ensure compliance with hospital protocols and food safety standards.

Requirements:

  • A friendly, approachable nature and genuine care for patient wellbeing.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure dietary and portion requirements are met.
  • Ability to follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in healthcare or hospitality is an advantage but training will be provided.
