Legislation Editing and Publishing Services are an exciting opportunity for individuals who want to work with the most up-to-date Queensland legislation.
- Standard Consolidations Preparation: Prepare and check standard consolidations of Queensland legislation for publication on the Queensland legislation website.
- Draft Legislation Editing: Edit draft Queensland legislation in accordance with current drafting practices and styles.
- Maintaining Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of Legislation Editing and Publishing Services team's processes and procedures.
- Supporting the Team: Support the team by developing capability, implementing process improvements, and contributing to a high-performing team environment.
- Supplying Bills and Amendments: Assist with supply of Bills and amendments to Parliament House and the government printer, certification, and notification of subordinate legislation.
Key Requirements:
- Understanding Editorial Practices: Understanding of editorial practices and standards, legislative concepts, Parliamentary and Executive Council procedures, and the Bill to Act process.
- Experience with Structured Authoring Tools: Experience using structured authoring tools such as XML and Structured FrameMaker.
- Broad Understanding of the Queensland Legislation Website.
- High Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, discretion, and tact.
- Positive Attitude: Positive attitude and ability to work well autonomously and in a team.
