About the Service: The Medicare Mental Health Services are free and do not require an appointment, referral or Medicare card to visit a Medicare Mental Health Centre. The new services in Tasmania are co-funded by the Australian and Tasmanian Governments to provide a streamlined approach to support better mental health and social wellbeing across the country.
Role Overview: As a Mental Health Clinician, you will be responsible for delivering brief and ongoing interventions, as well as developing collaborative individual care plans. You will work autonomously and collaboratively with other clinicians within the program to participate in the planning and development of services for individuals with mental health issues and their families.
- Must have one of the following: AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse, or AASW registration as a Social Worker.
- Requirements:
- Knowledge and skills gained through qualifications and previous experience in a mental health service delivery environment.
- Proven judgment and evaluation skills demonstrating a working understanding of assessment and care planning.
- Sound understanding of the public, non-government and private mental health systems and programs in a community setting.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills showing an ability and sensitivity to work with people who have or are at risk of developing a mental illness.
- Demonstrated skills in organisation and time-management, including the ability to work under pressure and balance multiple tasks.
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
- Proven understanding of duty of care, rights to privacy and confidentiality.
- Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC.
- Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance.
- Vaccination against COVID-19 is required for all positions.
