Inspiring English Educator Wanted for Melbourne's West

This unique educational environment provides a chance to make a real impact on students' lives, aged 15-18, in small class settings with excellent teacher support and well-being initiatives. As an English teacher, you'll have the opportunity to work with students who are eager to learn and develop their advanced language skills.
The role involves designing and delivering lessons that focus on developing reading, writing, speaking, listening, and viewing skills under the Victorian Curriculum. You'll also introduce students to various literary genres and texts from different cultural and historical contexts, teaching grammar and syntax to refine their writing and communication skills.
In addition to your teaching responsibilities, you'll collaborate with colleagues to share resources and best practices for teaching first-language English effectively. Your creativity and imagination will be encouraged through activities such as creative writing workshops, poetry analysis, and storytelling exercises.
To succeed in this role, you'll need to demonstrate previous experience in teaching Secondary English in a school setting in Australia, possess unrestricted working rights in Australia, and hold current VIT registration.
We offer a full-time position starting from Term 1, 2025, with ongoing opportunities. You'll work with a dedicated team of educators who employ High Impact Engagement Strategies (HIES) and High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS) within a Trauma-Informed and Culturally Responsive framework. The college prioritizes staff well-being, offering biweekly wellbeing groups led by a clinician and individual sessions with the wellbeing team.
In return for your expertise, we offer a salary aligned with your demonstrated qualifications and time dedication, estimated at $80,000 - $110,000 per annum. Join us in shaping the future of education and making a positive impact on the lives of our students.
