Electrical Control Systems Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Control Systems Specialist to join our Engineering Group. This role plays a leading part in the deployment of electrical control systems, including design, documentation, testing, and commissioning of materials handling automation hardware and PLC software.

Key Responsibilities:- Design and documentation of functional specifications
- Conformance to OHS&E standards in the design and execution of all work
- Preparation of electrical schematic drawings, PLC programs, and configuration of operator interfaces
- Configuration of SCADA's like ICONICS, CITEC, and WINCC
- Planning and supervision of major controls installations
- Managing the procurement of parts, the manufacture of cabinets, and the electrical installation
- Controls project cost management
- Testing and commissioning on customer sites
- Preparation of test plans and operator & technical manuals
- Degree qualified in an Engineering or scientific discipline
- Solid experience in electrical design and installation
- Sound knowledge of AS3000 & AS4024.1 requirements
- Experience in machine control, safety, and functional safety principles
- Knowledge of materials handling system controls
- Experience in writing technical documentation
- Knowledge of configuration, programming, and commissioning of PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred), variable speed drives, barcode scanners, and safety devices
- Ability to travel for extensive periods during the installation and commissioning phase of a project within Australia and occasionally overseas
