Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Association Manager to drive business development, membership, and advocacy initiatives for our local businesses. This is a pivotal role that will help revitalize the Central Coburg Shopping Precinct.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

This position reports directly to the CCBA Committee of Management and involves:

  • Supporting business growth and customer spend within the Central Coburg area;
  • Representing local businesses and identifying opportunities for development;
  • Motivating traders and property owners to participate in revitalization efforts;
  • Helping set the strategic direction for Central Coburg with the CCBA Committee;
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with Merri-bek City Council;
  • Presenting to Council the interests of local businesses and encouraging cooperation.

The successful Association Manager will be required to:

  • Coordinate committee activities and subcommittees as needed;
  • Collaborate with other staff and contractors employed by CCBA;
  • Assist with administration, including attending meetings;
  • Prepare and present reports, funding applications, and submissions for consideration;
  • Develop promotional programs, street improvement projects, and events in conjunction with the Committee;
  • Represent the CCBA Committee and act as spokesperson when necessary;
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with Local, State, and Federal Government;
  • Monitor and manage grant applications from submission to completion;
  • Become familiar with Central Coburg traders and businesses.
Key Responsibilities

The Association Manager will oversee various tasks, including:

  • Coordinating administrative, governance, and membership activities;
  • Representing the needs of local businesses and advocating for their interests;
  • Developing and implementing business strategies and plans;
  • Managing grant applications and reporting processes;
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, including Council and local businesses.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic attitude;
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent software.
