Role Overview

The Child and Family Nurse role at a residential early parenting unit focuses on delivering family-centred care to families with children (0–2 years). This position requires comprehensive assessment, intervention, health promotion, and education to support parents in achieving optimal child health, development, and family functioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide culturally safe and developmentally appropriate care to families with young children.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient needs.
  • Deliver health promotion and education to empower parents for optimal child health and family well-being.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to care values.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Current registration as a Registered or Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA.
  • At least two years of experience in a hospital-based postgraduate role.
  • Prior experience in Child and Family Nursing or working towards it is advantageous.
  • Excellent customer service, time management, and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, maintain positive relationships, and work independently as required.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts is necessary.
