Clinical Directors in Anaesthetics are highly respected professionals leading teams of specialist anaesthetists. They are sought after to join the North West Regional Hospital in Burnie, Tasmania.

  • This is a leadership role within a dynamic regional health service, supporting both high-quality patient care and medical education.
About the Role

The Clinical Director will lead a team of 15 Specialist Anaesthetists and 2 GP Anaesthetists. The key responsibilities include:

  • Providing specialist diagnosis, treatment, and anaesthesia services for public patients.
  • Delivering consultative anaesthetic support across multiple disciplines and two hospitals in the health service.
  • Contributing to education and training through the University of Tasmania Rural Clinical School, located on-site.
  • Ensuring best practice clinical governance and patient safety standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, applicants must possess:

  • Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).
  • Current AHPRA Specialist Registration.
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and mentoring ability.
  • Commitment to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and professional development.
