Job Title: Animal Care Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive individual to support our animal facilities and adoption centre. In this role, you will ensure high-standard animal housing maintenance and provide care and welfare for all animals entering the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and cleaning of animal enclosures and disposal of solid wastes.
  • Daily feeding & watering of all animals and providing regular enrichment activities.
  • Ensuring that animals are accommodated in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Conducting suitability assessments - including temperament, behaviour, age, and health - of all animals being considered for rehoming or rescue.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience in animal welfare, handling, and caring for animals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, the public, and community groups.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven computer literacy skills.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under general supervision and as part of a team.
  • Adaptability to changing working environments, technology, work priorities, or organisational needs.
