Clinical Nurse Consultant Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Nurse who is passionate about improving clinical practice and leading change in patient care.
This role focuses on elevating care standards through evidence-based educational and professional development initiatives.
Clinical Practice Improvement ExpertiseThe Clinical Nurse Consultant leads the ongoing evaluation and improvement of clinical practices through:
- evidence-led educational initiatives
- professional development programs for staff in inpatient and community settings
They collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and evaluate quality improvement processes, particularly through Essentials of Care (EOC) initiatives. The consultant uses clinical evidence and implements evidence-based practices to enhance optimal patient health outcomes.
The position also plays a key role in accreditation processes and procedures. The incumbent undertakes additional projects relevant to the role as directed by senior healthcare leaders.
Qualifications and Experience RequiredEssential Requirements:
- Registered with Authority to Practice with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Minimum five years full-time post-graduate experience with 3 years full-time equivalent in the specialty field
- Approved post-graduate qualification (minimum Grad Diploma/Certificate level) or evidence of working towards Masters level qualification
- Demonstrable experience and ability to initiate and lead evidence-based nursing clinical practice development and a commitment to continuous Quality Improvement Programs
- Demonstrable leadership skills and experience of acting as a mentor and providing clinical supervision, both individually and in groups
Desirable Qualifications:
- Possession of a current driver's license and willingness to travel as required
