We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Litigation Specialist to join our team in Brisbane.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction litigation and a minimum of 3 years of PQE experience. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of cases and participate in our firm's Pro-Bono practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting clerks and graduates throughout their rotations
  • Coaching and mentoring junior staff
  • Collaborating with senior practitioners and team members
  • Assisting with the preparation and presentation of workshops on construction insurance for clients
  • Corresponding and obtaining instructions from clients
  • Day-to-day management of litigation processes including document management, correspondence with opposing counsel and court attendances
  • Providing advice to insurers on cover and construction policies
  • Preparing briefs for Counsel Hearings that you will attend
  • Managing expert witnesses and reports
  • Interviewing witnesses and preparing drafts of lay witness statements
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3+ Years PQE practising primarily in Construction Litigation with experience in dispute negotiation and insurance law
  • Excellent communication skills with a passion to negotiate optimal outcomes
  • Attention to detail
  • Reliable under pressure
  • Able to manage many documents and tasks simultaneously
  • Proficient research skills and commercial acumen
  • Able to work autonomously, and in a team where necessary
