We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Winemaker to join our team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned winemaker to lead our winemaking operations, driving excellence in wine production and quality. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of winemaking, including grape sourcing, fermentation, aging, and blending.

The Lead Winemaker will work closely with our senior management team to develop and implement strategies to drive business growth, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Manage winemaking operations, ensuring high-quality products and efficient processes
  • Develop and implement winemaking protocols and procedures
  • Collaborate with the viticulture team to optimize grape yield and quality
  • Conduct sensory evaluations and tasting panels to ensure consistency and quality
  • Liaise with suppliers, distributors, and customers to maintain strong relationships and negotiate deals
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to drive innovation and improvement
Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Oenology or related field
  • At least 5 years' experience in winemaking, preferably in a senior leadership role
  • Proven track record of success in managing teams, improving operational efficiency, and driving business growth
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Familiarity with modern winemaking techniques and equipment, including laboratory testing and analysis
