Instrumentation Specialist Role

Seeking a skilled Instrumentation Specialist to join our project team working on a major gas processing plant development near Dongara, Western Australia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning and fault-finding diagnostic's on equipment including Distributed Control System (DCS), Safety Instrumented System (SIS) – Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS), Power Distribution Control System (PDCS) & switching control equipment, motor, alternators, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPSs, specialised vendor equipment i.e. analytical product quality, metering and condition monitoring equipment, fire and gas detection systems (F&G), field instrumentation – Analysers, transmitters, gauges, flow measurement devices, control valves, Safety Valves, actuators relays, solenoids, pneumatic equipment, ignition systems, ICSS marshalling cabinets, junction boxes and associated wiring.

Additionally, the role involves commissioning of hazardous area rated equipment, documentation of instrumentation testing activities, check-sheets, drawing revisions, specifications, cause and effects and engineering / process changes, as well as interfacing closely with construction and vendor personnel ensuring that activities are undertaken in a safe manner.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of instrumentation technology, electrical licences, construction white/blue card and relevant certifications such as Cert IV Instrumentation, UETTDRRF06B - Perform rescue from a live LV panel, HLTAID001 Provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Installation and Maintenance of Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA).
