The Prelude FLNG facility is a pioneering installation located in the Australian Commonwealth Ocean, 250 meters deep. It comprises sub-sea wells tied back to a Floating Liquefied Natural Gas unit, which handles gas processing, liquefaction, LNG/LPG/Condensate storage, and offloading.
This role involves supporting control systems engineering operations for the Prelude FLNG Asset, focusing on stakeholder relationships, engineering assurance, and technical skill development.
You will work with reliability, integrity assurance, safety-critical, and production-critical tasks, as well as documentation processes to meet business targets.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in risk assessments and prepare technical datasheets, reports, and specifications.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams.
- Promote safe work practices and conduct safety meetings.
- Develop and maintain programs for high reliability of Process Automation and Safety Instrumented Systems.
- Implement proactive technical monitoring processes.
- Identify cost reduction and defect elimination opportunities.
- Manage lifecycle processes for automation and safety systems.
- Support spare parts management and procurement.
- Develop plant changes for safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure SIS changes align with functional safety standards (AS 61511).
- Manage overrides and brownfield design reviews.
- Provide technical advice to operations and maintenance teams.
- Troubleshoot failures and conduct root cause analysis.
- Support major turnaround work scopes.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering.
- Experience as a Senior Control Systems Engineer on an operated Oil & Gas asset.
- Proficiency with Process Automation and Safety Instrumented Systems, interfaces, and protocols.
- Ability to quickly identify and engineer solutions with a hands-on approach.
