Metallurgical Technician

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Metallurgical Technician to join our team at the Detrital Pilot Plant. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing support to Process Engineers during the commissioning and operation of the Feed Preparation Plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Process Engineers to ensure the smooth operation of the Feed Preparation Plant.
- Review and understand process plant flowsheets and sampling practices.
- Operate mobile equipment such as telehandlers, Front End Loaders, and EWP.
- Accurately record and collate sample and operational data during sample preparation and pilot plant operations.
- Ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards while undertaking site sampling, labelling, and preparation of samples.
- Prepare samples for submission to laboratories onsite and externally.
- Contribute to the pilot plant project through continuous improvement and innovation.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- 5 years' experience as a Metallurgical Technician in a minerals processing environment.
- Demonstratable experience in pilot plant operations.
- Extensive knowledge of minerals processing and plant and equipment used.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of accuracy when collecting, recording, and maintaining data and relevant documentation.
- Telehandler - essential.
- Diploma in Laboratory Practices (highly regarded).
- Ideal qualifications in EWP, Working at Heights, Confined Space, Gantry/Overhead Crane, Isolations, and Front End Loader.
