We are seeking a Vacation Student - Metallurgist to join our Summer Vacation Program. This is a casual contract opportunity that runs from November to February. As a Vacation Student, you will be part of a successful West Australian Gold Producer and will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in metallurgical performance monitoring, sampling, and analysis.

• Monitor and advise on controlling the metallurgical performance of the plant.
• Complete metallurgical sampling, assaying, and analyses, with the assistance from metallurgical / laboratory technicians.
• Manage the metallurgical accounting and reporting systems.
• Oversee performance and maintenance of on-stream analytical equipment and automated reagent dosage systems.
• Set plant operating parameters and provide guidance to operations personnel on plant optimisation and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Manage and assist with gold handling activities in the gold room, elution and gravity recovery circuits.
• Learn about gold plant processing operations, including crushing, grinding, gravity/CIL/CIP recovery, elution, electrowinning and refining.

• Studying for a tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or Process Engineering (or an equivalent).
• Sound working knowledge of gold metallurgical accounting processes.
• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.
• Good communication and report writing skills.
• Solid or developing financial literacy skills – budgeting and cost control.
• A West Australian C-class driver's license (manual) and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance for site access clearance purposes.
