Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Microwave Electronics Specialist to join our Hardware team in Sydney, Australia. As a key member of the Quantum Sensing division, you will be responsible for developing custom microwave/RF electronics and antenna systems for new quantum sensor prototypes and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop custom RF & microwave electronics for quantum sensor prototypes and productisation
  • Create miniaturised RF electronics subsystems based on demonstrated bench-top prototypes
  • Model and simulate microwave/RF signal transmission to optimise system performance
  • Design, optimise, and fabricate custom antennas for near-field operation
  • Evaluate and ensure electronics systems are ruggedised for operation in the field
  • Manage the delivery of complex hardware prototypes, taking responsibility for technical quality, performance, and reliability
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
Requirements
  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Physics, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • Demonstrated track-record of developing circuit boards operating at RF/microwave frequencies
  • R&D experience working concurrently with scientists and engineers
  • Relevant CAD software/design experience is desirable but not essential
  • Experience modelling microwave transmission using CST studio or similar is highly desirable
  • Experience taking designs from prototype to production, including design for manufacture and product certification for global markets
