This is a stimulating opportunity for an accomplished Mechanical Engineering Manager to take charge of mechanical equipment at our mine site. As a key member of the engineering and maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the statutory compliance of all onsite mechanical equipment, maintaining high standards of mechanical engineering, and leading a high-performing work culture.

About the Role

  • Develop and oversee the statutory compliance of all onsite mechanical equipment;
  • Monitor and uphold mechanical engineering standards in all areas;
  • Ensure practical and robust maintenance strategies are in place for all mechanical equipment including all aspects of structural integrity;
  • Lead and mentor the diesel workshop operational team to drive a high performing work culture.

About You

  • A sound knowledge of performing the same or similar roles in an underground Longwall coal operation;
  • A sound knowledge of risk identification processes, safe work practices and relevant Australian standards;
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to demonstrate success in leading a team to achieve high levels of equipment availability;
  • A strong work ethic, high levels of resourcefulness, versatility, initiative, personal organisation, and diplomacy.

Requirements

  • Five years of practical mining experience with at least two years in installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of mechanical plant;
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a supervisory role, managing mechanical plant at an underground coal mine;
  • A Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) degree or equivalent qualification;
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
