**Job Summary:**
The role of Assistant in Nursing involves providing personal care and support to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse. This position requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care that supports the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Supporting patient mobility and transfers, including using hoists or other equipment
- Observing and reporting any changes in a patient's condition to nursing staff
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Assisting with feeding patients who require help
- Recording vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure (as delegated)
**Requirements:**
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or equivalent qualification
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Surgical environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively according to directions
- High level of customer service and excellent time management skills
- Understanding of infection control principles
