Coastal Pharmacy Leadership Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a well-established retail community pharmacy as the Pharmacist in Charge.

  • The ideal candidate will oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy and lead a small team of four, with supportive owners handling HR, pricing, and back-end operations.
  • You will be responsible for managing the dispensary, running medication reviews, providing general health checks and counselling services, liaising with the local hospital and medical centre, supporting ORT customers, and working full-time as the sole pharmacist.
  • A dispensary technician will be on-site three days a week to support you.

This role is initially offered as a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to extend. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a friendly, engaging personality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing the dispensary and running medication reviews.
  • Providing general health checks and counselling services.
  • Liaising with the local hospital and medical centre.
  • Supporting ORT customers.
  • Working full-time as the sole pharmacist, with a dispensary technician on-site three days a week.

Estimated Salary: $60 per hour + accommodation + $10,000 retention bonus.

Requirements:
  • General registration with AHPRA.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an Australian community pharmacy.
  • Strong attention to detail and a friendly, engaging personality.
  • Ability to operate the MINFOS computer system.

Workplace Details:

  • Script trade: 120 per day on average (up to 200 scripts during summer).
  • Shop hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm; Saturday, 9am-1pm. Extended hours in summer.
  • Team: 2 full-time and 1 part-time shop staff; dispensary tech support 3 days per week.
  • Webster packs prepared by the technician.
