{"Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Opportunity

Join Leidos Australia as we seek a skilled Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to support our aerial surveillance services under contract to the Australian Border Force.

We are looking for a B1 AME who is close to licensing or holds a part 66 license but no type ratings, with a desire to become licensed on DHC 8 classic aircraft. A type rating on offer to the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold Safety as a core value and contribute to the achievement of a Zero Harm and an incident/injury-free environment through active participation in all safety programs relevant to the position.
  • Perform the duties of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
  • Ensure all aircraft maintenance is carried out in line with the Aircraft Maintenance manuals, MOE, procedures manuals, and responsible CAMO requirements.
  • Responsible for the general condition, upkeep of the hangar and workshop.
  • Compliance to the FRMS and WHSMS policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the SBE/HoM.
  • Be responsible for personal tool control and equipment used in maintenance.
  • Report and defect found during maintenance to certifying engineer.

Key Essential Criteria

  • Australian Citizen.
  • Willing to relocate to Darwin if not already a resident.
  • Have sound communication and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills.

Qualifications

  • Key Desirable Criteria:
  • Both line maintenance and heavy maintenance experience.
  • Cert IV Aeroskills – Mechanical.
  • Dash 8 Experience.
  • Confined space training.
  • Current first aid Certificate.
  • Forklift license.
