About the Role

The State of Queensland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Coding and Documentation Liaison to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our clinical documentation and coding practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Coding and Documentation Team: Oversee the functions of the Coding and Documentation Liaison team, including coding quality and optimization audits, clinical documentation improvement, documentation education, and clinical liaison activities.
  • Coder-Clinician Liaison: Coordinate and conduct coder-clinician liaison functions to facilitate effective communication with clinicians across service divisions.
  • Documentation Education: Design, conduct, and evaluate ongoing documentation education across service divisions to improve the quality of clinical documentation and clinician knowledge of the impact of documentation and coding on revenue optimization.
  • ABF Data Analysis: Monitor and analyze Activity Based Funding (ABF) data to enable a customized approach to Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) optimization audits and clinical documentation education.
  • Reporting and Engagement: Provide regular reports of audit findings, optimization outcomes, documentation query outcomes, and clinical engagement activities.
