Our organization seeks a skilled professional to lead the multidisciplinary team providing specialist medical services to patients in the Home Hospital Department.

About the Role

The Consultant Physician is responsible for promoting patient safety and quality care, providing leadership, orientation, training, supervision, and education for doctors in training and other health workers.

This role requires collaboration with the General Medicine Lead and other Consultants to achieve national, state, and performance standards and targets.

We provide a combination of tertiary, secondary, and specialist healthcare services, including emergency and critical care, elective and emergency surgery, general medical, mental health, inpatient, and outpatient services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the multidisciplinary team providing specialist medical services to patients.
  • Provide leadership, orientation, training, supervision, and education for doctors in training and other health workers.
  • Collaborate with the General Medicine Lead and other Consultants to achieve national, state, and EMHS performance standards and targets.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical practice guidelines and protocols.

Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified medical practitioner with experience in general medicine.
  • Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field (e.g. Palliative Care, Geriatric Medicine).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
