About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Cook to assist in running the day-to-day kitchen duties, preparing and cooking different foods as per the menu and customer orders, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in running the day-to-day kitchen duties
- Prepare, season, and cook different foods as per the menu and customer orders
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
- Communicate orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
- Receiving, storing, stock segregation, and keep records of foodstuffs used
- Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
- Portion, arrange and garnish food, and place in different platters
- Supervise and manage junior cooks and kitchen staff
Requirements:
- The right to work in Australia
- Certificate III in commercial cookery in relevant field or have extensive work experience as a cook focused in Indian culinary/cuisine
- Minimum of 2 or 3 years of work experience
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for excellent quality food, produce, and service
- Reliable, punctual, and hard-working
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to maintain kitchen procedures and WHS standards
