Tunnel Operations Leadership

We are seeking an experienced Tunnel Operations Manager to lead high-performance teams in fast-paced underground mining environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe and efficient completion of all tasks assigned by the Superintendent.
  • Plan tasks for the shift in conjunction with the Superintendent and allocate machinery, work areas, and tasks to employees.
  • Direction and supervision of workers employed in project areas.
  • Closely supervise new or inexperienced employees and oversee daily line-ups and safety meetings.
  • Visit working areas to ensure adherence to procedures and standards, sign off on safety checks, and apply disciplinary procedures when necessary.
  • Actively participate in site leadership programs and record results of inspections, implementing corrective actions to minimize risks and hazards.

Requirements:

  • 10 years of experience in underground tunnel development and training of workforces within an underground environment.
  • Proven history of successfully supervising and safely guiding multiple crews through hazardous work projects.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate multifaceted situations to determine safe and productive methods for work completion.
  • Strong leadership skills, earning respect from management and subordinates.
  • In-depth knowledge of trackless Jumbo tunneling methods, construction, and special projects.
