Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Lead

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated mechanical design professional to lead our team in delivering high-quality engineering solutions. This role involves overseeing the proposal process, providing input on design options, project schedules, and code review.

  • Conduct site visits to existing facilities for renovation/addition projects to gather information on existing conditions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and designers to prepare construction drawings and calculations within AutoCAD or Revit.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience on Higher Ed, Municipal, K-12, and Commercial projects. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of North Carolina or ability to obtain your PE in North Carolina within 6 months is also required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the proposal process by providing clients with input on design options, project schedules, and code review.
  • Perform quality control review analyses to ensure final documents and specifications exceed client expectations.
  • Conduct interdisciplinary coordination and manage final reviews/approvals between disciplines and agencies and respond to comments.
  • Continue involvement through the construction process including submittal review, RFI response, field visits, and closeout documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Design and size full HVAC systems, including equipment selection and load calculations.
  • Coordinate and integrate HVAC systems with other building services to ensure seamless functionality, compliance with building codes, and optimal performance.
