We are seeking a highly experienced Visual Effects Supervisor to lead our Previs team in Sydney, Australia. As a key member of our leadership team, you will collaborate closely with Directors, VFX Supervisors, and other creative leaders to design and deliver sequences that meet their vision.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in visual effects for film, including recent management experience, and be well-versed in film grammar, composition, and editorial decisions. You will oversee the development of our Previs team, working with recruitment to grow the team and ensure we have the best talent on board.
Main Responsibilities:- Work closely with the Producer and Production Management team to bid and deliver previs on time and on budget across all projects.
- Partner with Talent Management to mentor, train, and support Previs Artists; motivate and provide feedback to Artists.
- Build a high-performing Previs team in Sydney, working with recruitment to help grow your team.
- Be responsible for various areas such as Storyboarding, Asset Dev, Set Dressing, Rigging, Animation+Layout, Lighting+Rendering, Tool Dev, Editing, and Compositing.
- Partner with technology and CG departments to streamline workflow and pipeline.
- Troubleshoot assets and shots, continually looking for and suggesting improvements to increase overall efficiency and productivity.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer visualization, or computer animation required.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in visual effects film.
- 7+ years of experience in visual effects film.
- Extensive experience in visual effects for film including recent management experience.
- Experience in animation, previs, and/or layout.
- Well-versed in film grammar, composition, and editorial decisions.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Linux and Maya.
- A reel demonstrating strong creative and technical ability in photo-realistic 3D with a focus on animation, previs, or layout.
$150,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
