Chief Welding Technical Specialist

Key Role: Welding Inspector

This is a pivotal position within our offshore operations, requiring an individual with strong technical skills and experience in welding inspection.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Familiarize yourself with relevant workpacks, drawings, weld maps, and weld procedures for allocated tasks.
  • Verify welders, equipment, consumables, and procedures are current and correct.
  • Monitor welding parameters and conduct visual inspections throughout the process.
  • Advise on non-conformances as early as possible and ensure weld repair procedures are followed.
  • Provide professional advice, both written and verbal, as required.
  • Demonstrate willingness to perform additional duties consistent with qualifications, skill, or experience.
Required Skills:
  • Hold a recognized certification as a Welding Inspector (WTIA, CSWIP, AWS, or IIW).
  • Experience in structural welding (AWS D1.1) is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong technical skills and preference for experience within the offshore oil and gas industry.
  • Functional use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Well-developed communication skills and positive attitude with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Ability to work harmoniously in close confines.
