Job Role Overview

A skilled Site Maintenance Electrician is required to join our team in a full-time capacity. The role involves covering the day shift across busy manufacturing and commercial facilities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Respond promptly to equipment and services breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Maintain all services and equipment in working condition at the start of each day, guaranteeing operational readiness.
  • Accurately record maintenance and breakdown times for analysis and future planning.
  • Ensure timely availability of equipment and services for production, optimizing site performance.
  • Provide comprehensive maintenance support to the entire site, promoting efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and update daily and weekly maintenance schedules.
  • Adhere to company and legislative requirements regarding Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), fostering a safe working environment.
  • Assist management in complying with OHS duty of care, prioritizing employee well-being.
  • Supervise work activities to ensure adoption of safe working practices, minimizing risks.
  • Participate in Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control (HIRAC) processes to identify potential hazards.
  • Take responsibility for aspects of the Food Safety and Environmental systems as outlined in the Quality Assurance Program.
  • Foster a collaborative culture by sharing information, ideas, and expertise with colleagues.
  • Carry out routine preventative maintenance on all plant, equipment, and services, preventing equipment failure.
  • Complete work orders using the Maintenance Management software, ensuring accurate records.
  • Liaise with accredited contractors, monitoring their competence and completion of works while onsite.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated success in similar roles, showcasing electrical maintenance expertise.
  • Minimum Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, ensuring relevant technical knowledge.
  • Prior experience in welding or fabrication, although not essential, can be beneficial.
  • Experience using maintenance management CMMS software, ideally MEX, for effective maintenance scheduling.
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and programming principles.
  • A proven track record in achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), demonstrating efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of food production processes and equipment, enabling informed maintenance decisions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, crucial for resolving complex issues.
  • Effective organizational skills, allowing for timely completion of tasks within strict deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills, facilitating seamless collaboration with operational staff.
