Job Overview

We are seeking a Food Service Assistant to join our team at the Peterborough Soldiers Memorial Hospital.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, providing food services to patients and staff. As a Food Service Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing and serving food, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and ensuring that all food handling and preparation procedures are followed.

You will work as part of a team to provide a high-quality food service experience for our patients and staff. This includes preparing and serving meals, snacks, and beverages, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve food according to established menus and recipes;
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, including washing dishes, cleaning equipment, and disposing of waste;
  • Ensure that all food handling and preparation procedures are followed, including proper food storage, labeling, and rotation;
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure that food service is provided efficiently and effectively;
  • Perform other related duties as required.
