Pumps Technical Support Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to support and develop technical support for our Pumps business lines technologies portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have mechanical trade or Engineering Degree with at least 2 years' experience, and experience with maintenance or rebuild/assembly of slurry pumps. They will be able to interpret safety rules, drawings, instructions, and manuals, and perform or learn 3D scans and CAD modeling.

The selected candidate will also possess good report writing and communication skills, and a current motor vehicle license. They will be required to travel on short notice and work away from home for extended periods, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate technical support activities for MA Pumps BL technologies portfolio.
  2. Conduct customer visits to evaluate needs and communicate with Metso Sales & Services.
  3. Support commissioning, start-up, performance checks, trials, warranty inspections, parts supply, and training.
  4. Provide troubleshooting, process knowledge, and technical incident support through site visits.
  5. Participate in warranty claim or customer complaint processes.
  6. Assist with technical information, diagnostics, root cause analysis, and investigations for internal stakeholders and customers.
  7. Ensure collaboration with local and global sales & services teams.
  8. Develop service support and capabilities with local service teams.
  9. Evaluate new service sales opportunities and support business development.
  10. Support profitable growth and customer retention strategies.
  11. Assist in IB Validation activities, including inspection reports and recommendations.
  12. Provide expertise for problem management, technical sales support, training, R&D, and product development.
  13. Act as a trainer for internal/external technical trainings related to Pumps BL technologies.
Requirements
  • Mechanical trade or Engineering Degree with at least 2 years' experience.
  • Experience with maintenance or rebuild/assembly of slurry pumps.
  • Ability to interpret safety rules, drawings, instructions, and manuals.
  • Ability to perform or learn 3D scans and CAD modeling.
  • Good report writing and communication skills.
  • Current motor vehicle license and ability to travel on short notice.
  • Willingness to work away from home for extended periods, including weekends.
