The Department of Medical Imaging within the Royal Hobart Hospital provides imaging services for all of Southern Tasmania. Our team works closely together to deliver excellence in healthcare and achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, workforce, and community.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Perform basic imaging examinations to produce high-quality images using ionising radiations.
  2. Assess medical requests, patient status, and capabilities to ensure procedure preparation meets correct protocol.
  3. Use imaging equipment and associated accessories safely to maintain patient welfare and standard of care.
  4. Monitor image quality to ensure standards are maintained and confirm all demographics and labelling are accurate.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in medical radiation practice approved by the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia.
  • Registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia.
  • Licence to practice under Tasmanian Radiation Protection Act 2005 and Radiation Protection Regulations 2016.
