Lead Carpenter

This is a pivotal role in overseeing bridge maintenance and construction projects with utmost safety and efficiency. As a seasoned carpenter with leadership experience, you will be responsible for motivating high-performing teams to meet project deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team to ensure the safe execution of maintenance tasks on bridges and drainage structures;
  • Provide guidance and direction to team members while taking responsibility for work carried out individually or in a team environment by others;
  • Address routine problems that arise during the course of work through the application of acquired knowledge and reference to standard guidelines and manuals;
  • Participate actively in team meetings and processes, offering suggestions for improvement;
  • Perform carpentry trade activities, including the construction and maintenance of bridge structures across the region;

About You:

As a qualified carpenter with leadership/supervisory experience, you must possess strong motivational skills to drive high-performing teams towards meeting project deadlines. Your ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing circumstances is crucial for success in this role.

You are a trade-qualified Carpenter looking to advance your career as a leader within either a bridge maintenance and/or civil construction environment.

You hold a Carpentry Licence/Trade certificate and have successfully completed a Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent.

You hold a current Construction Industry White Card, a current unrestricted NSW Motor Vehicle driver's licence, and are able to work at heights.

Additionally, you must be willing to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed.
