Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and innovative professional to lead the design of secondary systems for major new substations and the refurbishment of existing substations across our network.

This role requires a strong understanding of industry standards and technical documentation experience, as well as proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design applications.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related discipline) and 5+ years of experience in secondary design for high-voltage substation projects.

  • 5+ years of experience in secondary design for high-voltage substation projects
  • Strong knowledge of standards (e.g. AS 2067, IEC 61850) and solid technical documentation experience
  • Experience in SCADA and protection systems design
  • Construction White Card and valid C Class Driver's Licence
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design applications

Key Responsibilities

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering timely and high-quality technical designs, documentation, and scopes aligned with industry and regulatory standards
  • Collaborating with cross-functional internal and external teams to meet project objectives
  • Managing and supporting design reviews, liaising with stakeholders to ensure alignment
  • Partnering with field staff during and after commissioning to refine and improve designs
  • Driving innovation by contributing to standardised and sustainable design solutions
